Why Retroactive?
1. God’s Sacrifice on the Cross is Retroactive:
The name "Retroactive" beautifully ties into the gospel message that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross has retroactively covered our past sins. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus offers forgiveness and grace, not based on our own merit, but on His sacrifice, which applies to all of history. Philippians 3:13-14 highlights the freedom we have in Christ to “forget those things which are behind,” knowing that God’s love and grace are greater than our past mistakes. This name reminds the youth that because of what Jesus has done, they are free to leave their past behind and walk forward in newness of life.

2. Active Pursuit of New Life in Christ:
While "retroactive" reflects on the past—specifically Christ’s sacrifice—it also calls for an active response in the present. The verse encourages us to "press toward the mark," which is the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. This reflects both the active pursuit of a life in Christ, shaped by the gospel, and the acknowledgment that God's work is ongoing. It is not just about forgiveness of the past, but also about actively living out our faith, knowing that the price for our sins has already been paid.
This makes "Retroactive" a powerful name, as it brings together both the freedom from our past sins and the call to live actively in the new life God has given us.
